The Society for Disaster Medicine and Public Health (SDMPH) is convening an educational and research focused webinar on events in Ukraine on September 21, 2022. This event is dedicated to bringing reports from the field directly from those physicians, nurses and healthcare workers delivering health and medical care during extreme duress and conditions few have had to endure.
This webinar will include live reports from some of the few NGOs actually providing resources, supporting life-saving services and establishing health and medical care to some of the most vulnerable impacted, including gender-based violence and children. These small unfamiliar named humanitarian organizations are among few, who are the first in the field, setting a course for others to join, and augment the help needed.
Activity Objectives:
Discuss delivering health and medical care including life-saving interventions during extreme duress and scarce resource conditions in Ukraine.
Describe clinical and public health services delivery impact and response including scarce resource utilization, addressing gaps in education and training, collaborative integration of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), community medical support, and local healthcare infrastructure in Ukraine.
Identify direct reports from providers implementing lessons learned and novel approaches to address the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine including gender-based violence and children.
Target Audience: All Health Professionals who may have a role in Disaster Health, e.g., Physicians, Registered Nurses, EMTs, Dentists, Pharmacists, Public Health Professionals, academic researchers, students, administrators of private and public enterprise involved in disaster response.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Accreditation Requirements and Policies of the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) through the joint-providership of the Westchester Academy of Medicine and the Society for Disaster Medicine and Public Health. The Westchester Academy of Medicine is accredited by MSSNY to provide Continuing Medical Education for physicians.
